Antiperspirants that May Work for You

Are you experiencing excessive underarm sweating or hyperhidrosis? Sometimes, this problem could affect one’s social life.  It can actually hinder you to do fun things that could result to embarrassing armpit sweat. For example, it can prevent you from being close to another person or even hug the person because your shirt is full of armpit sweat. Sometimes, you try to avoid the fun stuff such as outdoor activities, sports, or going to a crowded area since these could cause too much heat that could result to too much underarm perspiration. There are people who even limit the colors of their clothes to just white and black to conceal the sweat marks on the armpit area.

One of the most effective ways to solve the problem is by Underarm Excessive Sweating Surgery.  It is important to consult your local dermatologist before undergoing the procedure to ensure safety. If you happen to be in the Philippines and Palau, drop by Dr. Almond Derla’s clinic, LaEstetica International.

If you are not yet ready for this kind of treatment, there are several antiperspirants that you can use to temporarily solve the problem:

1. Drysol Extra Strength 20% Solution- For some users, the effect was overnight while it was gradual for others. There are those who complained that it was too dry and caused itchiness or burning sensation.

2. Hydrosal Gel Antiperspirant- Users claim that the product is indeed effective but there are still a few who experienced itchiness after several times of using it.

3. Mitchum Clinical Performance- From the reviews I scanned, most users experienced dark scabs after a few times using it but there are also a few who attest that this product  works for them more as a deodorant than antiperspirant. It doesn’t stop the sweating but it controls the sweat.

4. Certain Dri Antiperspirant Roll-On- Most reviews are positive. It stops the sweating and itchiness is only experienced when too much is applied on the skin.

5. Odaban- It is quite expensive but it helps stop sweating and eliminate body odor after a few times of using it. It is best to use when armpit is dry to prevent itching.

Organic Deo for Sweaty Armpits?

Organic products are making their mark on the mainstream market. Numerous people are now into organic beauty products because these products are not just chemical-free but most of these products are environment-friendly at the same time. A lot of Hollywood celebrities like Daryl Hannah, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, and Cher already joined the band wagon as well.

But, is there an organic deodorant that could help stop underarm perspiration? Non-organic deodorants that are said to prevent armpit sweating contain aluminum zirconium tricholorohydrex glycine. Countless people attest that deodorants containing this ingredient actually help minimize the problem. It’s effective because this chemical temporarily blocks the pores and lessens the amount of perspiration produced on underarms. Plus, it helps eliminate the bad odor caused by sweating. Unfortunately, recent studies have linked this chemical to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Going back to my question… is there an organic deodorant that could help stop underarm perspiration? That would depend on your body’s chemistry. But here’s the thing, most organic deodorants use ammonium alum and potassium alum which have no aluminum but are both non toxic natural mineral salts. These natural ingredients help control underarm sweating.  In addition, organic deodorants can keep you smelling nice without the aluminum-based compounds, parabens, and synthetic fragrances.

If you have tried the conventional deodorants and the organic deodorants and still cannot deal with the sweaty problem, here’s another treatment that you can try--- Underarm Excessive Sweating Surgery. It may cost a lot but it could free you from the “sticky” situation.  However, it is essential to consult licensed professionals before undergoing surgery. In the Philippines and in Palau, Dr. Almond Derla’s Clinic, LaEstetica International offers such service. You can also visit their website: http://www.LaEstetica.com.ph for more information.

Different Ways to Remove Nasty Underarms Stains

As if being seen with armpit sweat marks is not embarrassing enough, there is still the armpit stain that you have to deal with.  I recently unearthed an old red blouse that’s perfect for corporate events and discovered that it has armpit stains caused by deodorant and perspiration. The blouse exactly looks like Sarah Jessica Gellar’s top and I couldn’t wait to wear it again. Unfortunately, I have to solve my dilemma with the stains first before actually wearing the red blouse.
If you have the same problem as mine, here are a few tricks on how to get rid of those stubborn stains:

The easiest way --- liquid detergent containing oxygenated powers. Let the detergent sit for 30 minutes before washing the cloth. If the tough stain is still there, apply detergent on the affected area, expose the cloth under the sun and keep it damp. Wash the cloth after several hours of sun exposure.

Most of us are likely to use bleach to remove the stain for white fabric. However, chlorine and perspiration could actually lead to darken the stain even more. Use hydrogen peroxide instead. Soak the affected area in hydrogen peroxide for at least 30 minutes before washing the cloth with detergent. Remember, this is effective only for white fabrics. Don’t do this in your colored clothes if you don’t want them ruined!

Instead of hydrogen peroxide, try using 1 tbsp white vinegar and ½ cup of water to remove armpit sweat stains for colored clothes. Soak the cloth in the vinegar mixture for 20-30 minutes before washing it with detergent.

1 tbsp Cream of tartar, 3 crushed aspirin, and a cup of warm water could probably do the job for ultra stubborn armpit sweat stains. Just make a paste out of the mixture, brush the paste on the stains and leave it for 20 minutes.  Rinse with warm water after. Repeat the process when necessary.

To totally eliminate the problem on armpit perspiration stain, we have to put an end to armpit perspiration.   Easier said than done, I know. But if you have heard about underarm excessive sweating surgery, you’ll realize that it’s easy to permanently solve armpit sweating.  Ask your dermatologist about it to know more about the treatment. In the Philippines and Palau, you can visit Dr. Almond Derla’s LaEstetica International to inquire about underarm sweating surgery. Home Remedies to Reduce Underarm Sweat

Found another celebrity with underarm sweat marks. Yes, it’s the sexy latina Jennifer Lopez. Celebrity or not, it is really difficult to avoid having sweaty armpits. However I saved up two home remedies for you to solve the problem.

The Apple Vinegar Treatment

Apple vinegar is available in grocery stores so it’s quite simple to get one. Make sure to trim underarm hair before applying the vinegar at night. Let the vinegar dry and wash it off in the morning with soap and water. The acid contained in the vinegar will help neutralize the odor caused by sweat and inhibit sweating.

Baking Soda + Deodorant Treatment

Add water to baking soda until it becomes a paste. Apply this to your underarms and let it sit for 25 minutes. Wash it off with soap and water but make sure to leave baking soda residue in the armpits. Use deodorant with high aluminum chloride to achieve optimum result. Baking soda is an alkaline while the sweat is an acid. When the two combine, they form a gas that quickly evaporates the sweat.

These do not work overnight, however. It takes a week or two (or even months for some) before seeing optimum results. While the routine may be laborious, it could help you with the sweaty problem. For those who want immediate result, try Underarm Excessive Sweating Surgery. For more information regarding the procedure, it is best to consult a dermatologist. Those who are in in the Philippines (particularly near Ortigas, Tomas Morato, or Davao del Norte), drop by Dr. Almond Derla’s clinic at LaEstetica International. Palau residents are also fortunate to have LaEstetica International in Meyuns, Koror.

How to Eliminate Excessive Underarm Sweating

It’s embarrassing to have underarm sweat especially when everyone can see the sweat marks on your shirt. Imagine going to a Beyonce concert date with your lover. Expect a jam packed stadium. You are fashionably dressed for the night but when you review your pictures from your digicam you can see that the sleeves of your underarms are soaking with sweat! You’d like to keep the pictures as memorabilia of the concert date but you’d probably want to photoshop the underarms to erase the sweat marks.

I found several celebrity pictures with sweaty underarms and boy, they are not really nice to look at.

Kate Hudson, Jude Law, Marc Anthony, Mandy Moore, Halle Berry

So how, do we deal with sweaty underarms? Here are several possibilities...

  •   Regular shower --- while shower could reduce the smelly odor of sweaty underarms and refresh the underarms from the sweat, it is inevitable to sweat again after several hours of heat exposure.

  •   Deodorant--- there are trusted brands that could actually aid in reducing underarm sweat but elimination of sweat is not 100% guaranteed.

  • Non-exposure to the sun --- would this mean no more day out in the sun? Besides, sweat could still form at night as long as the weather is hot.
  •  Lemon Juice--- rubbing the lemon juice on the armpits after bath is said to be effective…just bare the acidic/sour scent emanating from the armpits.

  • Talc powder---applying this on the armpit could be a bit messy but it could work for you.

  • Underarm sweat wipes—it claims to stop sweating when the antiperspirant wipe is dabbed on the armpit.
  • Underarm excessive sweating surgery--- a permanent solution to underarm excessive sweating. It may cost you money but this medical procedure would surely save you from that embarrassing sweaty armpits.
